Chef Mickey’s is one of my favorite restaurants at the Disney World Resort. The restaurant is located in the Contemporary and while I will be the first to say that it does not serve the best food (but most definitely not the worst either)on the property I also always have a good and fun time when I eat there. Chef Mickey’s is a character dining, buffet style restaurant open for breakfast and dinner. Chef Mickey’s is a great way to meet the Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy) without having to wait in long lines at the park, as all five of the characters come to greet you and your family while you are eating and take pictures with you. The breakfast menu at Chef Mickey’s usually consists of Mickey Waffles, eggs, pastries, and other classic American breakfast foods. Dinner usually consists of different salads, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, pizza, roasted chicken, carved beef and other American favorites. There is also a dessert bar consisting of ice cream with different toppings, brownies, cookies, and other yummy dessert foods. Like I said before the food is not 5 -star but it is satisfactory and its an all you eat buffet so I would say it is worth the price (about $40 for adults and $20 for kids over 3). Furthermore the servers are always kind and attentive.
During your meal you are guaranteed to be greeted by Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy. The characters walk through the restaurant and stop by your table for pictures, hugs, autographs etc. Like I said before if you or members of your family want to meet the Fab Five but don’t want to wait in line at the parks Chef Mickey’s is a great choice and can sometimes be more interactive than your standard meet and greet.
One word of advice Chef Mickey’s is a restaurant that fills up quickly. I highly recommend that you make an advanced dining reservation prior to your trip as it is very very unlikely that you will be able to eat there without one.
Feel free to share your thoughts on Chef Mickey’s or add any tidbits of advice you have on the restaurant.
Have a magical day!
